Radio Commercials

Hear Bill talk about why he wants to be in public service, his spirituality and his relationship with God, among other things.

And remember, he's not your usual Democrat, and he needs your help to beat Republican Incumbent Todd Akin.

Radio Commercial #1

This is former St. Louis School Board member Bill Haas, And I want to be your next Congressman from the 2nd District of Missouri. I'm a graduate of Yale, and of Harvard Law School. I practiced corporate law for 20 years, and I'm now a college professor of Business, Law and Government. I support an honorable political solution in Iraq, tax-breaks for the middle class, Health-care coverage for all, a secure peace in the mideast, guaranteed loans for college, parents off from work with pay to visit their children in school, funding for Day-care [and Senior-care!], stopping animal abuse on factory farms, making aggravated child molestation a federal crime with no parole, and illegal sellers of a guns equally responsible for any crime committed. And I'm for protecting seniors, because I am one! My opponent Todd Akin's vote in congress cost 5000 children in our district their health care. He may have served his country well, but so will I, and he often seems more about politics than people. This is Bill Haas, and I want to be your next Congressman. If I have gifts, they're God's gifts, and if I do well, it's God's work. I'm not your usual Democrat. For more, go to runbillrun.com.

Radio Commercial #2

This is Bill Haas, and I want to be your next Congressman from the 2nd District of Missouri. I want to tell you about my relationship with God. I was raised Jewish and I'm proud of my Jewish heritage, which gave me a strong base of morality, of public service, and of education and learning. And for the last 25 years or so, I've also gone to church, and believe it's the same god for everyone, and he just wants you to nice to his other children. This past Christmas eve I attended Mass at the Cathedral Basilica. It was very moving. I often go to Grace Church. Pastor Ron is one of God's special children to be sure. When campaigning for office I try to go to all the churches in my district, and I've never been uncomfortable. And when I pray, I thank god for watching over me when I wasn't doing a very good job of it myself, and I ask him to help me be the best I can be, and to help me do his work. This is Bill Haas, I want to be your next Congressman, and I promise to always put people ahead of politics, and try my best every day to make you proud. Radio Commercial #3

This is Bill Haas, and I want to be your next Congressman from the 2nd District of Missouri. There were two older people who were talking about the fact that they’d be going to Heaven before too long. One said, “I’ve always wanted to ask God why he would permit suffering and hardship to exist when he could do something about them, but I’ve decided not to ask him.” His friend said, “Why not?” And the first one said, “Because I’m afraid he’ll ask me the same question.” I want to serve you in government so when I go to Heaven, as I think we all do, and God asks me the same question, I’ll have an answer that I’m not ashamed of. This is Bill Haas and I promise to always put people ahead of politics, and try my best every day to make you proud. So if Todd Akin is not your guy, I should be.
